to work out of the DSD Architectural Department. Looking for an individual
with construction management experience in projects of various sizes,
skilled at real world problem solving, and innovative in programming,
design, and construction solutions.
Position Qualifications:
- 20 plus years experience in architecture and construction management.
- Bachelor's degree in architecture minimum. Master's degree in architecture preferred.
- Registration in Michigan preferred.
- Engineering experience a plus.
- Basic computer skills required (Excel, Access, Word).
- AutoCAD not required.
MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS
Seeking engineers with 5-10 years experience
in designing systems for institutional, commercial and industrial buildings.
Our engineers interface directly with clients. Responsibilities involve
project administration, engineering, and construction phase services.
Position offers decision-making opportunities, diverse project types,

Seeking current college students to work two alternate school semesters in our electrical engineering department. Must know AutoCAD.
Typical duties include:
- Utilize in-house illumination software for new building and/or renovation design.

- Prepare static pressure calculations for duct systems.
- Prepare pump head pressure drop calculations.
- Select heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment.

ARCHITECTS
Seeking architects with 5-10 years experience
to develop design concepts, prepare documents during design development
and provide construction phase services to clients. Projects cover a variety
of building types. Assignments vary. Responsibilities include code review,
serving as project manager for assigned projects, interfacing with clients,
an in-house design team and the construction team.
Sr. ARCHITECT
Seeking licensed architect with 10 -20 years technical experience to coordinate the construction document disciplines for A/E projects. Must be familiar with technical detailing of curtain wall, roofing and enclosure systems for low to mid rise construction, as well as typical masonry construction techniques. Must be able to coordinate and communicate with all disciplines and consultants in a full service firm.
Typical duties include:
- Understanding and obtaining owner’s needs and/or requirements. Handling owner’s questions and/or comments and dispersing them to the proper discipline.
- Reviewing multi-discipline drawings for coordination.
- Obtaining and providing project information to all disciplines. (i.e. existing conditions, utility services, owner’s equipment and space requirements, interconnection of systems.)
- Understanding and handling of other disciplines and/or contractor’s questions in a timely manner.
- Scheduling and oversee meetings, owner/intra-office/construction. Creating and providing meeting minutes to all involved.
- Developing substantial and specific details for construction contractor to effectively build facility designs.
- Creating of architectural construction documents and specifications.
- Review codes for job specific requirements. Provide solutions for code compliance and inspectors write-ups and/or issues.
- Creating project budgets and/or schedules.
- Verifying product availability and cost.
- Shop drawing and submittal review.
- Resolving construction conflicts and unforeseen condition issues in the field.
- Understanding and use of company’s quality system.
- Maintain Architectural Department Technical Standards.
- Help maintain overall departmental quality control.
- Project Manager for selected projects.
- Participate in company wide marketing efforts.
