Mother Church for 1.5 million Catholics
The Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament is the mother church for southeast Michigan's 1.5 million Catholics. DSD is working with the Archdiocese of Detroit on a three-year renovation program that will revitalize this most revered structure.

The neo-Gothic cathedral was built between 1913 and 1915. Renovations include: expanding the current seven hundred fifty seat capacity to twelve hundred worshipers, adding a smaller 250 seat chapel space, adding a 16,000 square foot gathering space, adding exterior gathering spaces and gardens, mechanical and electrical upgrades and renovations to the Rectory.
