Multiple Dynamometer Lab Design
Akebono, a major supplier of automotive brakes, selected DSD to provide mechanical and electrical engineering design services for dynamometer installations at its new research and development facility in Farmington Hills. This one-story, high bay laboratory/dynamometer facility houses five chassis and ten conventional brake dynamometers.
DSD engineers designed each chassis dynamometer lab with an insulated, acoustically controlled enclosure and integral control room. Each chassis dynamometer has a dedicated HVAC system mounted on the building roof. The conventional brake dynamometer cells, are also served by an independent HVAC system.
