Description/Purpose of Position:

Architectural and Engineering Project Manager shall be responsible for coordinating interdisciplinary projects and teams and establishing and maintaining relationships with consultants, clients, and contractors throughout the life of a project.
 

General Duties/Responsibilities Include:

  • Proposals, fee estimating, and attending internal and external project kick-off meetings

  • Review open RFP’s/FRQ’s and attend site walks/meetings as required.

  • Assist the marketing team when needed.

  • Assist in managing customer expectations and have a high-level understanding of the requirements of projects to assist in developing design and construction timelines.

  • Identify and assist in managing project risks and liabilities.

  • Have a good understanding of all disciplines/phases related to new construction and renovation projects, including but not limited to the following: civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, IT/AV, commissioning, construction phase, and close-outs.

  • Maintain meeting minutes, relay project scopes to design team members, and schedule design meetings/charettes within the design team; and in conjunction with the client and/or contractors as needed.

  • Evaluate the status of each discipline regularly and provide feedback to upper management.

  • Review invoicing and assist accounting as needed.

  • Assist in coordinating resource planning and deliverables to ensure customer commitments and timelines are met.

  • Manage self multi-tasking requirements including working on several projects simultaneously, and delegate tasks as needed.

  • Perform project quality control on the project deliverables at each stage of the project through close-out.

  • Review drawings (both digitally and hard copies) to ensure discrepancies are removed, drawings are in proper order, and show a high level of understanding of the design requirements and that scope requirements have been met at each stage of the project.

  • Provide feedback and drawing markups to design team members as needed.

  • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely communication of information to and from clients, consultants, and within the design team.

  • Respond (or assist in acquiring responses) for RFI’s and contractor inquiries after issuance of BID documents.

  • Review and route construction submittals internally and externally § Share drawing files as needed including using programs such as SharePoint, Filegenius, and OneDrive.

  • Have a good understanding of AutoCAD and Revit file structures, communication tools such as Teams, Webex, and Outlook, and office management programs such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam.

Minimum Education/Professional Licensing Desired:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area (architectural, engineering, or construction management) or related field.

  • 4 years minimum experience in a project management position, with either 6+ years at an architectural and/or engineering firm or in building construction.
