Seeking an individual with a BSEE, preferably who has successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.  Must be comfortable with AutoCAD MEP 3D and/or REVIT for building design.  Input engineer’s markups into drawings, learn design. Understanding of lighting and electrical power a plus. Familiar with layers/layer management. Firm understanding of paper space and model space within AutoCAD and/or Revit drawings. Full time. General Duties/Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Utilize in-house illumination software for new building and/or renovation lighting designs.

  • Utilize AutoCAD and/or REVIT drafting for electrical design.

  • Utilize short circuit and coordination design software as directed by electrical engineers.

  • Assist in the design of power distribution systems.

  • Assist in the design of lighting systems.

  • Assist in the design of fire alarm and security systems.

  • Preform field surveys and gather data of existing electrical systems as required.

  • Develop material take-offs for use in cost estimating.

  • Develop special spreadsheets and documentation utilizing in-house software including database.

  • Select equipment.

  • Attend trade shows and in-house training seminars.

  • Perform electrical loading calculations.

  • Collaborate with the project teams for development of various BIM deliverables to clients, including modeling and detailing for project documents

  • Responsible for Revit Project Setup

  • Coordinate multi discipline, multi company/consultant projects

  • Assist project managers with model presentation and client meetings

  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to meet deadlines
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering/Architecture, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience

  • 5 years of experience in BIM; Revit or equivalent BIM software

  • BIM Tasks include family editing, expanded modeling skills, understanding of BIM Workflows and project setup

  • CAD Tasks include CAD content editing, style editing, 3D modeling from base CAD/Vertical application

  • Experience with CAD file integration into a project

  • Adhere to project execution plans and workflow criteria

  • Expanded 3D modeling skills including parametric control of 3D solids within a family or block
