Seeking a career-minded Michigan licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years’ experience in designing mechanical building systems (i.e., HVAC, exhaust, plumbing, fire protection, temperature controls, etc.) for institutional, commercial and automotive research buildings. (Unlicensed individuals also considered). Must be able to interface directly with clients, make decisions, and handle diverse projects from concept to completion. Responsibilities

Project management, engineering, and construction phase services
-
Ability to lead the AutoCAD/Revit coordination efforts between departments
-
Collaborate and communicate across multi-discipline and multi-company/consultant project teams
-
Assist project managers with model presentation and client meetings
-
Work on multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to meet deadlines
-
Accurately produce schematic design, design development, and construction documents based on direction from the PM
-
Carry out design tasks of limited scope
-
Plan, implement and lead mechanical design projects to determine resource requirements, staff allocation, project timelines and budgetary requirements
-
Provide guidance to engineering staff members, review construction drawings for code compliance and technical accuracy
-
Maintain familiarity with current systems and processes to increase efficiency, technical skill and productivity

Perform field site visits to inspect existing equipment, systems and facilities
-
Review, understand and respond to RFP's and write and submit project proposals to clients

Reports directly to the Director of Mechanical Engineering
Qualifications
-
Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer
-
10+ years experience in designing mechanical building systems (i.e., HVAC, exhaust, plumbing, fire protection, temperature controls, etc.) for institutional, commercial, and automotive research buildings

Unlicensed individual also considered depending on experience

Must be able to interface directly with clients, make decisions, and handle diverse projects from concept to completion

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills
