Electrical Power Systems Engineer

DSD is in search of an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. The Ideal Candidate will have a strong background in designing industrial power systems, performing short circuit analysis, and arc flash studies for industrial buildings and campuses. Experience with EDSA/Paladin Design Base and/or ETAP is highly desirable. The candidate should have a minimum of five (5) years of experience, though ten (10) years of experience is preferred. a licensed engineer (P.E.) is preferable, but DSD will consider others. Pay will be proportional to experience. We offer an excellent benefits program, which includes 401k (with match), profit sharing, health and wellness plans, and paid time off. Responsibilities:

Expected to conduct and/or provide oversight for Arc Flash studies of varying size and complexity.

Design of electrical power distribution systems for industrial and commercial facilities.

Collaborate and communicate across multi-discipline and multi-company/consultant project teams.

Work on multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to meet deadlines.

Assist project managers with model presentations and client meetings.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).

5 years of relevant experience as an electrical engineer in the A/E industry.

Proficient in short circuit and arc flash hazard analysis, and protective device coordination, utilizing ETAP and/or EDSA/Paladin Design Base.

Professional Engineering Licensure in the State of Michigan is preferred.

Willing to work extended and flexible hours as required to complete assignments.

Physically capable of traveling to and from project sites for field observations, project meetings, and visual acuity to perform responsibilities in poor lighting and difficult environments.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
